Below are several images and illustrations of one of our resent lessons. We have only given a brief explanation of Johns swing problems to give you an idea of what we can do for you. We like to keep any swing thoughts simple, and our teachings are towards the modern approach to the golf swing with an awareness of the players swing characteristics and abilities.

Notice how Johns head is starting to lift up very early in the swing.

 

This will make the back/spine straighten up. The club head is seen to go a little outside the line on the back swing. It is now almost impossible to get the club back on line/path on the down swing causing the club to be cast very much on the outside path/line, this will give John a very steep angle of attack.

The club head will hit across the ball (right to left) causing a glancing blow resulting in a slice or pull shot.  

1. Compare Johns spine angle at the address position to the swing picture on the right and see the change in his spine angle. John doesn't retain his spine angle during his swing.
You can see Olazabal retains his spine angle throughout his swing
(see illustration below, Right Side ).

2. On the down swing, you can see Johns hands and club head are coming outside the top red line. This is because his back/spine is straightening up during the swing.

The illustration on the right side, clearly shows Olazabal with the correct hand position between the lines just before impact.
